Welcome back!!

     This month we will be talking about different ways to promote your business though the POS. Currently you probably have a message at the bottom of your guest check which displays some information about your restaurant, or thanking customers for their business, or something unique about your concept. Did you know you can also program revolving messages which promote happy hours, reverse happy hour, lunch hours, specials, football specials, or just about anything you want to let people know to come back for special promotions? It is actually quite easy, if you follow the steps below.

     Log into Aloha Manager, and go Maint/Messages/Guest Check. Presently you may only have 1 message. You can program as many different messages as you wish, and fire them throughout the day. 1 of my customers recently post a message which said "Return with your movie ticket stub, and get free dessert, valid until 8/15". She also posted other messages about exactly what I described above, and saw quite an increase in her special parts of the day. You can build these messages just like an item, assigning the message with a message id number. Once you have as many messages as you wish, you are ready to fire them. This can really be a lot of fun, and boost your sales a great deal.

     Okay... Now Maint/System/Events. Select "Add New Event" You are looking for the event called "Set Guest Check Message" Message #1 is always your default message, so you can program them to be daily, weekly, monthly, or on a specific date. You can program the messages in so many different times and ways, you should be able to boost your sales very easily.
